Truck Loses Load Of Steel Pipes On long Onramp
Steel Pipes A semi-tractor trailer tipped over and lost its load nearsouthbound Interstate 5 Monday morning in Everett. The on-ramp at 172nd Street Northwest near Smokey Point was blockedfor several hours. The Washington State Patrol said the truck's heavy load of steelpipes was not properly secured and shifted while the truck wastraveling on the on-ramp. Nearly a dozen of the pipes rolled fromthe flatbed truck at about 9:30 a.m. Crews worked to clear the steel pipes that scattered on the edge ofthe road and shoulder, video from Chopper 7 showed. Each pipe weighed more than 5,000 pounds. KIRO 7's news partner the Herald said the driver, a 53-year-old manfrom Snohomish, was taken to a local hospital when he complained ofback pain, but he was not seriously injured.
